About Us

Ink and Light was founded in 2012 by director Leevi Lemmetty and producer Tamsin Lyons. Over the past 10 years, we have been developing and producing animated series with heart and humour for a family audience. We have built a network of trusted partners and a small catalogue of projects we are very proud of.

Most recently, we co-produced the 52x11minute series Royals Next Door for commissioning broadcasters RTVE, YLE, RTÉjr and Ketnet. Royals Next Door was nominated for Best Children’s Programme 2022 by the Royal Television Society Ireland and Best Writing for Animated Series at Irish Animation Awards 2023.

Ink and Light has continued to grow, thanks to so many talented, creative and passionate artists working with us in recent years. We have seen our series and short films travel to audiences all around the world and we can't wait to share more stories with you in the years to come.

Tamsin lyons - producer

Tamsin’s work has been distributed internationally and screened at some of the world’s most prestigious festivals including Sundance, Toronto, Annecy and Sitges. She was also a nominee for the Cartoon Producer of the Year 2018 at Cartoon Forum.

A graduate of the UK’s National Film and Television School, Tamsin worked for Oscar-winning BreakThru Films for 6 years, developing their slate of live-action and animated projects.

While at BreakThru, she also produced The Last Thakur, a British-Bangladeshi feature film for More4 and Artificial Eye, and Scratch, a Norwegian co-production with Motlys.

In 2012, Tamsin set up the Irish company Ink and Light in her native Dublin with Finnish director Leevi Lemmetty.

I got into producing because I love being a part of every stage of a project. From dreaming up ideas to putting together a team of brilliant talents to hearing from families who are watching the series together, it’s such a privilege to do what we do.

Animation is an incredibly powerful and versatile tool to tap into the deepest emotions and I am still totally hooked and excited about the possibilities.

LEEVI LEMMETTY - DIRECTOR

Leevi Lemmetty, also a graduate of the UK’s prestigious National Film & Television School, was nominated for the Royal Television Society’s Best Animation award and the Edinburgh Film Festival’s McLaren award for New British Animation among others. His short films have screened at festivals worldwide. Prior to establishing Ink and Light, he directed music videos and idents for clients including Warner Music Finland and MTV. Previous to stepping out as a director, Leevi worked as a 3D animator, online editor and art director in his native Finland.
