LIGHTING artist

We’re currently looking for an experienced and passionate Lighting Artist to join our growing team for a new CG comedy series, Stories from Backwoods.

This role is open only to residents of the Republic of Ireland. Please only apply if you are either based in ROI or if you are able and willing to relocate for the duration of the contract.

 

  • Contract duration: immediate start into September 2024.

  • Job type: Full time contract

  • Location: On-site (Dublin)/ Hybrid. Remote applicants based in Ireland, and applicants eligible to work in ROI and willing to relocate will be also considered.

  • Tools: BLENDER

  • Deadline for applications: Friday 16th August 2024

As a Lighting Artist, you will be responsible for look development and creating lighting for all assets, environments, and characters of the production. You will be collaborating heavily with the series director, CG supervisor, and art director to achieve the artistic style and level needed for the series.

 

The role includes the following key tasks:

·       Creating set & character light rigs in line with the workflow and pipeline needs, and to a consistent style and the quality level required

·       Optimising and fine-tuning lighting for assets, environments, and characters

·       Preparing and organising lighting rigs for use in production

·       Collaborating with compositors to achieve the desired final look and integration

·       providing solutions to creative and technical challenges, adapting to scheduling or production changes

Key skills and qualities we are looking for in an ideal candidate:

·       Solid experience as a Lighting Artist on animated series or feature(s)

·       Ability to work with Blender

·       Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, organised approach to work

·       Good understanding of animation pipelines

·       Fluency in English

·       Ability to take feedback and embrace change
